Idea name: custom token lists
Description: make it possible in status mobile and desktop to import custom tokens beyond the status and uniswap standard tokenlists so they can use the status wallet functions for these tokens as well without leaving the app
Use case: As a user, I want to add any custom token beyond the status and uniswap standard tokenlists so that i can ape in and out of any (meme-)coin on any evm chain without needing to import my status wallet into any other wallet app to do the job.
Target user: memecoin connoisseurs
Why this is important: custom tokens get insane trading volumes especially by small wallets, so if the status wallet cant cater to this it doesnt have much use case left. even if the app does some other things right, once the user bumps into this problem they will invariably decide to export their wallet into another app. at that point it seems very unlikely the user returns to use the status wallet for its remaining functionality
Any other comments: pls put this in next release for my family

Hi, thanks for the idea.

This is something we are already working on indirectly, as a part of the multichain initiative. Currently, we only support 3 chains, soon, we’ll add support for all EVM chains.

With support for all EVM chains, we’ll also add custom tokens.

ah great to hear. was afraid custom token lists werent on the roadmap at all anymore but custom token lists on all evms sounds even better!

Also, in the current version of the app, if you have a token that’s in the Uniswap list, the balance will start showing up automatically.

This won’t work for most Memecoins though, as the new ones are rarely on Uniswap list.

I wonder if it would be helpful to reference the relevant github issues / labels in this thread for these sets of functionalities, to point future readers to the work we will do / are doing / have done.
