Hello all, My daughter updated the status app on her iphone 14 and when she opens it with her face, the app just buffers and doesn’t change.
However, we did still have an old phone that the app was on. I got into the status app using her password (she was away at the time) and could see the ethereum balance in her wallet. However the app would not let me send that balance as the “next” button would not do anything, after i’d put in the amount to send. The phone was using only wifi at the time and had no sim in it.
However, after I gained access to the app and could see the balance, I then went and changed the Face ID on the phone so I could get back into the phone and the app quickly without the need for the password. As soon as I did this I went back in to the app and the balance had gone to zero and a new wallet address was there. I should say that at present we have been unable to find the seed phrase.
She’s since been able to come to me, we’ve reset her face as face ID for the phone, gone back in to status and there’s still a zero balance and a different wallet address. What can we do with this?
Her ether is still sitting at her wallet address on etherscan so that’s fine, but why did the app change the wallet address in the first place, why is it not letting us back in with her face as face ID and how can we get access back to the wallet so that we can send the ether elsewhere?
